It’s Time to Lance the Boil

Two weeks ago, I predicted to my friend, Joan, that the name David Duke would soon surface again. Well, his name just hit the airways, and he has said that the rioting in VA today, “…fulfills the promises of Donald Trump”.

Duke, if you recall, is the former Grand Wizard of the KKK. In Feb. 2016, Donny admitted that he knew nothing of White Supremacy or David Duke, but “would do research on them”. Two days later, he disavowed them.

My first thought was, how does a man who doesn’t know anything about “white supremacy” become elected to the highest office in the country, in the first place? Maybe because they all voted for him. Ignorance seems to be a required quality for hate groups, and he out-shined all other candidates in that category.

They make up only a portion of his “base”, but they seem to feel comfortable being members.

More interestingly, in November 2016, when asked about Trump’s appointment of Steve Bannon as his chief strategist, Duke replied, “I think that’s excellent. You have an individual, Mr. Bannon, who’s basically creating the ideological aspects of where we’re going,” added Duke. “And ideology ultimately is the most important aspect of any government.”

The string of people that Trump has attempted to take freedoms from, and the groups that he has pitted against each other are results of that ideology…simply put, bigotry.

The members of Congress must stop watching NOW. Somebody needs to take the light-saber from Donald the Menace Trump while he runs impetuously through the Waterford Crystal store.  Not quite the Night of Glass, but this is how it starts. The glass in his case, are countries and peoples…pretty big stuff.

The liberal Republicans and the conservative Democrats should join forces and be the ones to tell the Emperor that he has no clothes.

They should unite and build the Independent Party. I like that name, and that’s how I would define myself, independent. Decisions should be made on each issue based on its merits, not a Party line.

I believe when we have three strong political parties it will reflect the beds of the 3 Bears. The Republicans are too hard, the Democrats are too soft, and the Independents…just right.

Continue to contact your Washington DC “voices” to get the knife. Let’s REALLY drain the swamp, and lance the boil.

Extra tidbit: I also think I know who the White House leaker is…Melania.  Just sayin’…

To Watch, or Not to Watch

I’m sure you’ve seen the LifeLock commercial where the bank guard informs people that he’s actually a security monitor that only notifies people when a robbery is in progress. Then he, and everyone else watch the crime occur as he says, “There’s a robbery”.

I’ve always considered the Media as a security monitor, notifying us of any disaster looming, but not authorized to stop it. That responsibility fell to the people that were notified.

Well, folks, we’ve been notified. Every news channel, except Fox, is screaming the warning at us, some of them 24/7. There is major corruption in the White House and we have an impulsive, capitalistic, megalomaniac steering the USS America.

Just consider the new words we’ve all added to our daily vernacular: bigly, fake news, misdirection play, covfefe, complicit, bigot, leaks, witch hunt, immunity, nepotism, unprecedented, alternative facts, vindicate, impeach, supremacy and vetting. Two new additions to the Oxford English Dictionary this past February…conway and spicer. Synonyms for the last two are: conway (v) – distort, subvert, falsify and spicer (v) – project, exude, emit, emanate. Not the marks I think they meant to leave for the History books. They are only two examples of the collateral damage Trump has created…but they went willingly.

We are blessed to be living in the United States of America. I thank God, often, for that fact. But we are watching this man humiliate us globally. He’s like the crazy, “rich”, boisterous uncle that talks big at family reunions, and then corners everyone trying to get them into Amway.

There’s really no harm caused if you just watch the crazy Uncle’s delusional shenanigans. Everyone “gets it” and lets him live in his fantasy world.

But our crazy “Uncle” (not Sam) is causing catastrophic harm, not only in our country, but more importantly…globally.

For months, we’ve all watched and said, “That’s crazy sh-t!” and then go back to watching.

Well, it IS crazy sh-t, and we’ve got to stop just watching.

Before our very eyes (but behind the curtain) social programs and regulations are being eliminated.  Political decisions are being made, determined by financial value only. And, now we’re facing a nuclear attack by North Korea’s crazy Uncle. While those two idiots try to out-bully each other, they are fighting on our playground. Hopefully they don’t destroy it.

The ignorance that we laughed at in the 1970’s All in the Family is the same perspective shared by Trump and his “base”. The big difference is that Carroll O’Conner knew that Archie was a dullard and a blue collar, self-righteous bigot. The people surrounding him humored him, actually “egging” him on. We all watched, knowing how ludicrous it was…which is what a comedy should convey.

This is no sitcom written by Norman Lear. This script is written by Steve Bannon, who seems to have plagiarized Lear. He’s turned a comedy into a tragic reality show.

I have notified my MN Congressional representatives (both parties), that I don’t want them to just watch anymore. As things get more serious, my communications get more frequent. I now have a voice. I encourage everyone to get a voice. If we all speak up, our voices get louder.

This, my friends, is a call to action.

In my obituary, I want the sentence that starts with, “In her later years…” to end with “…she didn’t just watch”.

Why Have Insurance at All?

One definition of insurance is: A thing providing protection against a possible eventuality.

The verbiage “possible eventuality” had me befuddled since it seemed as confusing as “could happen but, will happen”.

My definition of insurance is something you have while anticipating the unanticipated.

There are insurance policies available for just about everything. Tom Jones’ chest hair is insured for 7 million dollars, and if you go to Thailand you can purchase Thailand Riot Insurance…$10,000 max per tourist. Apparently, being trampled in a Southeast Asian country is not as catastrophic as an aging sex symbol developing Alopecia.

Homeowners Insurance is something that most people grumble about paying into, and never getting anything back. From someone that had their house burn down (2001), I can tell you, that unlike life insurance, you can not only recover, but benefit from having paid for insurance.

Look at it like this, regarding “things” not people, there will be two outcomes for everyone that pays Homeowners Insurance: 1. They never must suffer the traumatic experience and they still have all the heirlooms and memories they treasure, or 2. They lose the things of the past and replace them with all new items. There are upsides for everyone depending on how you look at it. (I’d like to put a plug in for Prudential…they were terrific).

Your home insurance is based on the value of your home and its contents. The more expensive the home, the more the policy will cost based on ability to pay.  The more expensive the home, the higher the income. The percentage of insurance to income is no doubt very close regardless of income bracket. Another thing in common…the homes are just as valuable to each person, no matter a castle or a cottage.

Health insurance is like homeowner’s insurance, in that everyone values their health and the condition of their body, since it is the only home they have for their spirit. This does not mean that one person’s body has greater value than another person’s. The only difference is income and ability to pay.

Why not develop a program where everyone pays the same percentage of their income into Medicare?  Unlike today’s system there will be no loopholes, tax breaks or extra deductions. Everyone pays the same percentage, cut and dry. Everyone gets whatever coverage they need for the unanticipated.

The argument that GOP supporters of the Trump Care bill give is that people can CHOOSE to buy insurance and are not forced to buy insurance they don’t need. They propose that the people that need insurance the most, should be the ones to pay for it.  (Now that’s a Christian concept if ever I heard one!)

Spoiler alert…it’s tough to sign up for insurance in the emergency room.

For those that have little or no income, they would be able to pull from the pool for coverage…we could call it Medicaid.

I know, I know the Healthcare issue isn’t quite that simple, but I also know it doesn’t need to be as complicated as it’s seems to have gotten.

And, for my friends living around Area 51, there is an insurance for you.

Alien abduction, impregnation and consumption: $1.5 million
There are over 20,000 people in the US alone who pay a premium for insurance against alien abduction. Hopefully the impregnated are not planning to use Planned Parenthood. The consumption coverage…well, that’s a tough one to prove.

If I Ruled the Country – Healthcare

If I ruled the country I would immediately call a joint session of Congress. Once everyone is seated I will begin to speak.

“Fellow Human Beings, I want you each to consider yourselves just that.  Equalize yourself to the people you represent and whose future you will impact. There are no Political Parties here, at least not regarding the topic of Healthcare.

This isn’t a competition to see whose name is on the Bill and or which Party won.

Let me make this very clear…we do not want Obama Care, or Trump Care, or GOP Care or DNC Care. We want Jane and John Doe Care.

Take every person out of their environment and line them up wearing only the same drab colored gowns. Note, they have all different medical conditions both good and bad. Not equal in what they need to help their body survive life’s journey.

Now, have the Spirit of each person step forward and outside their bodies. Look up and down the line and you’ll see that God’s greatest creation has total equality. Not one of those spirits is loved more than or less than every other spirit in existence by Him. Not one better or worse than all the others. And that applies Universally.

If you have Faith, as you all claim you do, you believe that the Ultimate decision maker is God. Talk about Veto power!!!Yikes!

He will be watching to see how we treat our fellow “equal” spirits when they return to the vessels they were given at birth.

The “Doe Bill” must put in place a system that will help us equalize the vessels as best we can. We must all master the art of seeing the spirit inside and developing the Doe Bill from there.

Starting today, there will be no more Congressional time spent on “revisions and repealing” the status quo regarding Health Care.

In two days, I want a committee formed that will travel to Australia and spend two weeks studying their Universal Healthcare Program.  (It’s funded by their Medicare…ironic) This totally bipartisan group  will look at what works, and what hasn’t.

This Committee will be comprised of 9 people. There will be a Senator, Representative and State Governor from each party, DNC, GOP and IND.

While they’re gone, a similar Committee will be formed to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of our existing program.

In two weeks, we’ll meet here again and listen to the reports from both Committees. Creation of the “Doe Bill” will be done in the next two weeks using the information gleaned by the two committees. but expedited…and not behind closed doors.

Any amendments must be made during these two weeks before the Final Bill’s presentation.

The Bill will be ready to be created,  presented, debated and voted upon within a month.

While these 18 people are working on that, the rest of you get back to work on ways to improve your constituents lives without getting distracted with the Russian debacle. There are experts working on that.

And remember, there will be a day that each of you will put this Bill on God’s desk for approval. Give Him one He’ll sign.

If I ruled the Country…Yikes…I’m just starting!

I Loved Calamity Jane

Gun control is an issue that truly challenges my sense of logic. I do not understand how so many people have legal access to weapons and go on to commit murder. The vetting system must be very similar to the one used to select Trump’s administration and cabinet.

I am not opposed to gun ownership for hunting that is legalized. The “hunter and gatherer” instinct is one that I really appreciate in those that still feel its call. My favorite uncle was a Game Warden in the Black Hills of SD. He had a gun for every season.

He never used a semi-automatic rifle when hunting Bambi’s dad, and he never quieted Thumper with a gun that had a silencer. He entered the “hunt” with an appropriate weapon for hunting the “in season” prey. His favorite part was hunting on “their turf” and absorbing the nature around him. It was as fair a fight as he could create.

As a true hunter, his goal was to bring home the venison and he did, which we all enjoyed…in many forms…for a very long time.

I would never want to take this experience from anyone. Think about it. If we didn’t kill the deer, we’d be watching “Planet of the Elk”.

His job was that of an “Animal & Nature Cop”.  His responsibility was protecting endangered plants, sites and animals. I’m thinkin’ we should add Human Beings to that “Endangered Species List”.

As for self-defense, I again just believe we must re-evaluate not eliminate this “right” and reason to own a gun. When the authors of the Second Amendment in The Bill of Rights wrote it, they were in a different time and a different world. In today’s world, they may have qualified which “arms” you could own and required you to take the CLEE test before issuing you a license.

CLEE is an anagram for Compassion, Logic, Education and Experience. It’s a test that is conceptually mine, and still needs creation and legislation.  I believe if someone scores 80% or above in at least 3 of these categories, they’ll probably be approved.

The Education and Experience segments are questions specific to whatever it is that you are getting a license for. (ex: Do you know how to use a gun? and, What have you done with guns before?). The Compassion and Logic are general human nature questions (ex: Do you value human life? and, Why is is bad to hurt other people?).

The way the world is going, we may need this test for drivers licenses too.

This makes sense to me more than whatever the system is now. I don’t want to take people’s gun rights away, I just want the right people to get them.

I know my concept has an ice cube’s chance in Hell to ever  materialize under Trump. Face it, if there’d been a CLEE test for “presidential candidates” he would’ve scored low, if at all, in all categories.  Regardless, , he still may have gone on to get elected…while we waited for him to release his test results.

It’s Not Just Business As Usual

The Bizzarro world that we’ve been living in for two plus years is beginning to implode before our very eyes.

The members of the Trump brigade are scrambling for lawyers. I believe that both the Russian and the financial investigations, plus the discoveries involved that are surfacing, how shall we say, “are concerning”. It should be easier for them to find legal beagles now that Donald has put 46 Attorney Generals on the “Available for Revenge” list.

When Trump took on Comey and the FBI, he made a big mistake. He’s obviously never watched “The Untouchables”. As I watched Comey testify, I felt like Grace Kelly watching Gary Cooper walk down the street in “High Noon”.  (I know, I know, but life to me is theater, and I like to recast sometimes).

Corruption aside, what other collateral damage will be created in the wake of Trump’s “pass through power”? How many regulations, that he’s eliminated, will be fought for again after another victim dies from neglect? How many people will regress into misery, and for how long, before we recognize it again and fight for their right of spiritual and human equality…again?!

As I am writing this, he is installing bans on Cuba. You know, the good thing that Obama was involved with. That country must feel like they’re holding a daisy, and now it’s “love me not”. There’s so much work ahead of us.

Add to this the shooting at the Congressional baseball practice. The revelation for our Congressional members was that they REALLY are one of US! What was an isolated incident for them, is the daily existence for far too many people in our country. Now maybe they will reconsider some of their votes regarding gun regulation…or the lack of it.

Maybe if we cut their healthcare like they propose to do to us, they would be holding a fundraiser to help cover Steve Scalise’s medical bills because the deductible is more than his family could afford.

Or we could really hit them below the belt and move their parents into assisted living situations, even if it was only to have the one meal they will eat each day, cease to exist.

We could require that all the property that they and their family  reside in, or purchase, is located on shorelines only.  Can you say depreciation?

Yes, we could see the compassion in their eyes and see the oneness that they all felt. The image of all the Who’s circling the WhoVille Christmas tree singing and swaying hand-in-hand came to mind. I DO so hope it’s solid and has permanence.

But I’ve been fooled before. I felt the same cumbia when the Pope was here. That seems to have faded into fairy dust.

I do believe that this is the time in History when the festering pimple will pop. There is no option, the world is going through a metamorphosis, led by our country. We are responsible for the consequences of his impulsive, megalomaniac behavior… because it’s IN OUR NAME!

SO, let’s hope that this attitude of unity and good for everyone does become the norm. That we can come closer to a culture that believes that life, and the quality of that life is far more important than any profit or bottom line…or Party line. We’ll be watching.

I want to leave you with something that should be required viewing by anyone in a position of leadership. It’s from 1940 and worth every one of the 4 minutes in length.    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w8HdOHrc3OQ

gazovoye osveshcheniye

The title of this post is the English pronunciation of the Russian word for “Gas lighting”, and this is what I witnessed in the Megan Kelly interview with Putin.

Although we’ve been witnessing it here on the home front for far too long, it was interesting to see how Putin tried to pull it off. I’d give him a 4.5 on a scale of 10.

There is no sincerity behind his eyes. The next time you get a chance to watch him speak, note that his eyes are one-dimensional. They are flat and dull, with no spirit showing through. It’s like his corneas are made of darkened auto glass…he can see out, but we cannot see who is behind the glass.

His responses were not surprising.

In my February post “Gaslighting Alert” I listed the 11 tactics that are used by people who are using this method of control. As a reminder, here they are again:

  1. They tell blatant lies
  2. They deny they ever said something even though you have proof
  3. They use what is near and dear to you as ammunition.
  4. They wear you down over time
  5. Their actions do not match their words
  6. They throw in positive reinforcements to confuse you
  7. They know confusion weakens people
  8. They project
  9. They try to align people against you
  10. They tell you or others that you are crazy
  11. They tell you everyone else is a liar

Sound familiar? Recently, Trump has called the Democrats ,obstructionists. This is an example where #8 from the list comes into play

8. They project. They are a drug user or a cheater, yet they are constantly accusing you of that. This is done so often that you start trying to defend yourself, and are distracted from the gaslighter’s own behavior.

Every time you see a headline generated by the present White House, it will be done to draw our attention away from the Russian connection investigation. Do they lie? No, they give alternative facts.

One new gaslight attempt is taking the “Immigration Ban” to the Supreme Court. Can’t wait to see how the Trump gang tries to convince us, and the Judges themselves, that the members of the highest court in the country are crazy…bigly.

The newest distraction item is privatizing the country’s Airports and Air Traffic Controllers. Ignoring the fiasco that resulted the in the 1981 Air Traffic Controllers strike, the only result he sees is the “bottom line”.

The biggest illusion that is being forced upon us is that Trump’s actions are Politically motivated for the betterment of America, or in his words to “Make America great, again”. What is truly happening, before our very eyes, is that the country is being moved from a Political machine to a Business venture.

Every defense that he and his pundits have offered for his actions always come down to money. He and many of his supporters, excluding anyone with a blue-collar, are purely about the “bottom line”.

As people in the world are dying, starving, struggling on a planet that desperately needs our attention for its mere existence, he has the audacity to ask Congress for 1.6 billion dollars for the Wall. (The great negotiator lost that one with Mexico.) You add to that the “bottom line” of keeping 3 White Houses and those to me are glimpses of his true priorities.

When you consider that he has cut “Meals on Wheels” by 3 billion dollars, you realize that “the common good” is not a concept that he is capable of understanding.

To conclude, I’ll remind you of a few things:

  • Putin and Trump undoubtedly have a bond like two vampires feeding off each other. Trump is seeking money and notoriety while Putin’s goal is power and control. They seem to be providing what the other one needs to obtain their trophies.
  • Steve Bannon is working behind the scenes to de-construct the Washington DC political machine, which is happening while we watch. The important thing is how it is restructured.
  • This entire “gig” as President will end for Trump when, the writing is on the wall and he files “bankruptcy”. He will walk away with more money and notoriety than he deserves. Just another business venture that didn’t pan out.
  • Finally, and most importantly, God will never ask “Was it profitable?” His question will be “How many lives did you benefit?” We just need to remember that Donald doesn’t think he must answer to anyone.

Henry…Please, Just Call Liza!

Below is an email exchange between Henry and Liza. The first entry is Henry emailing Liza with a dilemma. Liza’s responses are in italics. This is their exchange about a bucket conundrum.

(H)There’s a hole in the bucket, dear Liza, dear Liza,
There’s a hole in the bucket, dear Liza, a hole.

(L)Then fix it, dear Henry, dear Henry, fix it.
(H)With what shall I fix it, dear Liza, with what?

(L) With straw, dear Henry, dear Henry, with straw.
(H)The straw is too long, dear Liza, too long.

(L)Then cut it, dear Henry, dear Henry, cut it.
(H)With what shall I cut it, dear Liza, with what?

(L) With an axe, dear Henry, dear Henry, an axe.
(H)The axe is too dull, dear Liza, too dull.

(L)Then sharpen it, dear Henry, dear Henry, sharpen it.
(H)With what shall I sharpen it, dear Liza, with what?

(L)With a stone, dear Henry, dear Henry, a stone.
(H)The stone is too dry, dear Liza, too dry.

(L)Then wet it, dear Henry, dear Henry, wet it.
(H)With what shall I wet it, dear Liza, dear Liza?

(L)With water, dear Henry, dear Henry, with water.
(H)In what shall I carry it, dear Liza, in what?

(L) In a bucket, dear Henry, dear Henry, in a bucket.

(H)But there’s a hole in my bucket, dear Liza, dear Liza,
There’s a hole in my bucket, dear Liza, a hole.

This is actually an old children’s song from the 18th century, appropriately named  “There’s A Hole in The Bucket”.

Keep in mind that this is a condensed version of the song. In the original rendition, each line is repeated throughout the song. I only did this in the first and last stanzas. (You should thank me).

This song went flashing through my brain when I recently endured the same lengthy process through email…again.

Without going into detail, the most recent experience started with an email that I sent to a tournament director asking him, “Are there going to be trophies or t-shirts for the winners?” After FOURTEEN emails, back and forth (7 exchanges) and 6 ½ hours later, I’m sending an email asking, “Men’s or Women’s sizes?”. Think about that for a second. I repeat, six and a half hours later!!

This issue could have been resolved in a 5-minute phone conversation. Plus, there would have been no misunderstandings regarding attitude and intent. I guess you could say that voices speak for themselves.

I am in no way condemning communication through email or text. I would never want to go back to the times when both the sender and receiver had to be available at the same time to communicate with each other. Nor, would I want to make the 30 individual calls to get the same message to 30 people at the same time. As the expression goes…oh, hell no!

However, I don’t like that it has put me in a position that I must email people first, just to see if I can call them. And, I find myself apologizing for asking them if we can actually talk to each other. As someone who loves a good conversation, email has cost me a lot of good laughs.

When I do conjure up the courage to call someone, I’m not just glad but also grateful when they answer. I am aware that they “chose” to talk to me when they saw my name on their smart phone. On the other hand, when they don’t answer it means that they “chose” not to talk to me. I know how the system works. I use it too.

Just because we can replace phone conversations with emails, doesn’t mean we should. Email can and should be used to keep several people “in the loop” when they must all be involved.  It can also be used at any time, not contingent on anyone else’s availability…say at 3:30am. There are many other advantages.

But, I will never concede that phone conversations are obsolete. I have always found pleasure in one-on-one, live conversations. It’s like visiting without leaving home. And a laugh heard is more valuable than one that is assumed.

As for Henry…my first and only response to him would have been:

“ Buy a new bucket, dear Henry, dear Henry, dear Henry.                                                                     Buy a new bucket, dear Henry, they’re on sale at Menards.”

How Many “Our Fathers” Does It Take?

Growing up as a Catholic I’ve said my fair share of Our Fathers. In second grade, I received the Sacrament of Confession. As with all Catholic Sacraments, there is a protocol to follow.

In a telephone booth with a kneeler, you tell the Priest behind a screened window all the sins you have committed since the last time you “talked”. It all starts with you making a sign of the cross while saying “Bless me father for I have sinned….”. There is a required script but I won’t go into that.

The completion of your Confession is when you cite the Commandment that you feel worst about breaking. You are then given a penitence based on the degree of your sins. This penitence consists of a combination of Hail Marys (HM) and Our Fathers (OF) that you must immediately recite to be absolved of your sins, concluding with a good Act of Contrition.

The Hail Mary is the lightweight prayer probably because it is exclusively Catholic. The Our Father on the other hand, is THE universal Christian prayer that God gave to all of us on the Mount. The more OFs you are assigned the more serious your infractions. I’ve heard that the “norm” is 2-3 OFs and 4 HMs.

Which brings us to why I am an authority regarding The Our Father prayer. Getting my Commandments mixed up I always cited the 5th Commandment as the one I was “mostly” sorry for. That’s right, the one that says “Thou shalt not kill”. I followed the same script  every confession and I assumed that 30 OFs and 20 HMs was the standard penitence for “lying to my Mother once and fighting with my brother twice”. I also thought the gasp and pause behind the screen was Father Hale thinking “Not again.” Come to think of it, that’s probably exactly what he was thinking.

So, as someone who has probably recited the Our Father thousands of times I have decided to put my money where my mouth is. I am speaking specifically to the section that goes, “And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive them that trespass against us”.  I have always translated the word “trespass” as meaning “having wronged”.

I recently found myself amid a “trespass” and in a position to make good the commitment that I’ve made thousands of times to God. I have always asked Him to forgive me in the same way I choose to forgive others. (shades of the Golden rule). In other words, I set the bar and He’ll follow my lead.

I decided that I could not live with the Power of Forgiveness that I possess and not use it. So, I did. I truly did. And what an incredible power it is. When I embraced forgiveness, I was filled with a feeling of warm fullness and clarity that pushed out and took the place of the cold anger, resentment and ache that were all trying to take root in my soul. Although some may view forgiving as a weakness, I found that it took all the spiritual strength I could muster. Jesus knew what He was talking about in that Sermon.

I don’t think the expression ” actions speak louder than words” is truer anywhere more than in the eyes of God. How many commitments to God do we make just through memorization, not taking our words to Him seriously? In the group of people standing during the Our Father on Sunday mornings, how many are just reciting the words from memory and not really planning to put them into action? Some won’t when asked to. They seem to think that sayin’ it is good enough for God. In the Heavenly circles this is referred to as “lip service”.

I don’t believe God is a big fan of the expression “take me for what I say and not for what I do”. He certainly doesn’t follow that practice

When Trump Speaks…

Tonight Mr. Trump will be addressing the Joint Session of Congress. Although I do have trouble sitting through more than 5 minutes of his self-perpetuating megalomaniac rants, I will watch as much as I can.

My focus will only partially be on Trump’s message. It will be interesting to watch his body language and listen to his patronizing “kiss up” to whomever is there. We know, Donny, you love them and they love you. There has NEVER been anybody that loved them more than you.

As is tradition, he will bring his parade of “common Joes” to re-enforce his love for the same people that he demonized when he was among haters. Plan to see at least one black man/woman and one Mexican man/woman. My money is on no Muslims have been invited. Or, like many of his other invites, they have been offered but refused. They have integrity. The only children he will point out will be his own and someone’s grandkids.

I always hate the way he utilizes the hand movement called the “money gesture” or an Italian gesture called “The Ring”. His thumb and index fingers are pinched together at the tips. I have always found that gesture to be demeaning and condescending.

One of the more interesting traits of his speeches is how many adjectives he uses to describe things he’s trying to sell us on. He never makes a statement without qualifying it with an adjective follow-up. For a man that believes he’s saving us from disaster, he uses the words greatest, tremendous, magnificent and wonderful a lot, but that’s only when he refers to Trumptopia.

The words disastrous, horrendous, fake and badly will also permeate the hall tonight. After all, he is here to remind us of how horrible the world we live in is. These words will be used to describe Obamacare, immigration laws, regulations and the military. These are things he will either get rid of, or allot money for that doesn’t exist.

He has very quick eye movement behind narrow openings. He very seldom makes eye contact with people when speaking to groups. When I coach my speech kids, I tell them that when they don’t make eye contact when speaking, it’s like a duck hunter shooting a bullet in the air and hoping a duck flies into it. Tonight, you will notice that he will speak to the Right side of the room (his left) and the balcony where his closest allies are seated. I believe this is a sign of his need to only connect with only people that are in his fold.

The seating for this event is as traditional as they come. The Democrats sit on the left of the aisle and The Republicans sit on the right side facing the podium. Behind him will be seated Pence and Ryan. I’m going to watch and see if Ryan squirms and if Pence displays any emotion other than sullen or smiling. I keep thinking there’s an alien living inside his plastic looking body.

Whenever Mr. Trump makes certain points of how he will make “America Great Again” the protocol is that the side of the aisle that represents his party stands up and applauds. Since many of his statements will be controversial, we’ll see who has drunk the Kool-Aid. This will give us more of an indication of how things in Washington are REALLY going than anything the White House has released.

Don’t think he’ll mention Russia but may bring the fake press up.
